As part of the Year of the Family, Pope Francis declared the fourth Sunday in July to be a World Day For Grandparents and the Elderly. It is the day closest to the Feast of St. Anne and St. Joachim (July 26), parents of the Blessed Virgin Mary and grandparents of Jesus.
