The NJ Legislature is now processing a package of healthcare bills (A5508/S3804) which could have a grave impact on religious liberty if enacted. These bills will expand insurance coverage for abortion inducing drugs and eliminate the religious employers’ exemption contained in New Jersey public law. By removing the religious employers’ exemption, Catholic parishes, schools and other religious institutions would be forced to provide insurance coverage for abortion inducing drugs. As Catholic citizens we cannot permit this to happen without a response. Please go to the NJ Catholic Bishops web site at www.njcatholic.org - or click the title above - Open the web site and click TAKE ACTION NOW. Then click ASK THE LEGISLATORS TO PROTECT EMPLOYERS EXEMPTION. Fill out your information and then click SEND MESSAGE. The US SENATE is reviewing the Equality Act, S788 which would have major impact on First Amendment freedom of speech, conscience and religious liberty and health care. The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has documented their concerns in a letter of March 20, 2019 to all Senators. The main areas of concern in the letter are: * Regulate thought, belief and Speech * Explicitly retract religious freedom * Hinder quality health care * Endanger privacy * Threaten charitable services * Exclude people from various career paths and livelihoods. At each Father’s Day Mass, Fr. Dan blessed the fathers and presented each dad with the choice of a SML hat, a cell wallet, a utility knife, or a Post-It Pad as a gift. He also added great levity to the Masses by tossing last year’s 75th Anniversary T-shirts into the pews with Fr. Parishes around the Diocese celebrated Diocesan Youth Sunday, the Solemnity of Pentecost, by incorporating their smallest members in a big way. “The youth of my parish are the ‘now’ of God,” said Linda Xerri, youth minister in St. Mary of the Lakes Parish, Medford. “They are following the Gospel message and the Gospel values, and all we can hope for is that they continue to listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit.” To read The Monitor article and see photos, click the title above.

As appreciation for the Altar Servers service to our parish, Fr. Dan took a group of altar servers to Citizen’s Bank Park for  the Phillies vs Arizona Diamondbacks game on Wednesday night, June 12.
