May 6 First Reading

This is the amphitheater in Caesarea Maritima, on the Mediterranean Sea, where Peter baptized Cornelius as is described in Sunday, May 6, first reading, Acts 10:25-26,34-35,44-48. The acoustics are so good that St. Peter would have only had to raise his voice to be heard. It has been rebuilt over the years since some of the stones were taken by locals to build their own homes.
