Family Promise

SERVING HOMELESS FAMILIES IN BURLINGTON COUNTY
Our Mission is to provide Help, Hope and Safe Haven to families experiencing housing insecurity through our Prevention, Shelter, Stabilization
and Advocacy Programs.
Family Promise, previously called Interfaith Hospitality Network, is a national organization supporting and caring for homeless families throughout the United States.  St. Mary of the Lakes has been a participating parish with Family Promise of Burlington County for over 20 years serving as a host shelter
for homeless families.

St. Mary’s parishioners can support Family Promise in a number of ways and we encourage volunteers to get involved in this Ministry of Caring.  

Here’s what we do:
     Provide Temporary Shelter, food and clothing for families who have become homeless
     Participate in volunteering at the “Day Center” in Moorestown, NJ which serves as Family Promise of Burlington County administrative headquarters and provides a place for child care, laundry facilities, computer access, training and resource center for guests.
      Provide Advocacy, Prevention and Stabilization programs to help families gain economic independence and personal development
       Run giving campaigns and/or sponsor events to raise the funds needed to pay for shelter, food, supplies and other items needed for the families

Here’s what you can do:
     Donate to help us provide shelter – We appreciate anything you can give to help us shelter families (at this time families are sheltering in motels).

     Volunteer your time and your talent – become part of our Network of Specialists who can be called upon to advise, provide volunteer hours in our Day Center Facility in Moorestown, provide food or supplies to our guests, provide administrative and/or fund raising support etc.
     Are you a social media specialist, a grant writer or someone involved in Apartment Shelter Management? We could use your help.  Do you have a background in Social Work Case Management?  We could use your help.
