Becoming a Catholic, or participating in the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA), is a process of spiritual formation by which the Church prepares those 16 years of age or older for the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and the Holy Eucharist and by which individuals seeking full membership in the Catholic Church are prepared. This process is meant for someone who:
has never been baptized
has been baptized in another Christian tradition
has been baptized Catholic, but has not had any instruction
and/or never received the sacraments of Eucharist or Confirmation
Do any of the statements above describe you? Do you know someone who fits the description?
If you are interested in being baptized, completing your sacraments of initiation as a Catholic, or being received into full communion with the Catholic Church please consider OCIA. OICA is also a ministry and can be found under the Ministries tab on this website. We meet Sunday mornings September through Easter. Contact Christine Brandt (609) 654-8208 x113 or [email protected].
